Did you know that 23rd of March is World Meteorological Day. The day aims to promote weather awareness and, here, Soundings contributor Lindsay brings us a little history of the day. She also highlights some perhaps overlooked scientific advances; tells us about the endearing – and very British – ‘Shipping Forecast’; and covers steps being taken to monitor climate change.
